That’s how it is, the whole neighborhood is full of small commercial activities that are very popular within the residents, these businesses bring alive a reality that has increasingly disappeared in recent times. The peculiarity of this street is certainly the beautiful “Passeggiata a mare”, a wonderful rout, made even more exciting by the amazing Terrazza Mascagni. The entire area of the borough used to be crossed by waterways, such as the famous but unfortunately now disappeared route of the Canale dei Lazzeretti.
The main attractions of touristic relevance are, the beautiful Viale Italia, San Jacopo’s Church with its crypt which existence is dated 1100 AD, San Leopoldo’s bust, “Pancaldi” and “Tirreno” bathing establishments, “San Jacopo in Acquaviva”, the municipal Aquarium, completely renovated and managed by the Costa Edutainment, already managers of the Genoa Aquarium, and last but not least the famous “Naval Academy”, built in 1862, the most important Military Academy in Italy. In Borgo Apartment, the Suites Livorno’s new born, is inserted in an early 800’s building, placed on the second-floor walk-up but with an ancient staircase left from the same epoch.
Finely renovated and complete with every comfort, it consists of:
